Welcome to Dust & Juniper, a small leather workshop devoted to traditional braiding.

Dust and Juniper (formerly Artworks4us) began with a love and respect for traditional leather braiding and a desire to create pieces that become part of everyday life rather than passing trends.

Each bracelet is hand-braided using premium kangaroo leather. Because kangaroo leather's tensile strength is 4 times stronger than cattle hide, it has been long noted for its remarkable strength, fine grain, and supple feel. Every string is beveled and braided using techniques inspired by the vaquero tradition—a craft built on patience, precision, and generations depending on braiding to help them in their everyday work.

While bracelets remain at the heart of the shop, Dust and Juniper is steadily growing to include hand-braided dog collars and leashes, reins and bridles for horses, along with hand-sewn leather wallets, bags, and other everyday goods. Bracelets and pet accessories are braided to order, while larger leather pieces are produced in small batches to ensure every item receives the attention it deserves.

Nothing here is mass-produced. Each piece is made with the intention that it will be worn, used, and appreciated for years to come, developing the rich character that only genuine leather acquires with time.

An 8-string bracelet bent twice for 3 lines of braid. It measures over 3/4" wide at the knots. Three beautiful Pineapple knots are each flanked by two gaucho knots. Two Headhunter’s knots finish each end.

This 12 String Bracelet is rolled over a solid leather core and is not dainty. Because of the number of strings, it retains a six-sided angular appearance. The end knot is a Headhunter’s knot while a Gaucho knot sits at the base of the loop.

Diamondback

The Diamondback bracelet has 12 strings braided and rolled over a solid leather core. Because of the number of strings, it retains a six-sided angular appearance. The end knot is a Pineapple knot while a Gaucho knot sits at the base of the loop.

Mesa

A flat braid bracelet beginning with a 4-string braid for the enclosure, then brings both sides together to continue in an 8-string braid down the rest of the bracelet. Rolled flat with a Headhunter’s knot for the end.

Coyote

Two coyotes wrangle for a ring. The 8 string kangaroo braid is over a solid leather core. The leather will give a little over time, unlike the coyotes.

4-Step Gaucho

A complicated 8-string braid. Most braids carry the "v's" down the length of the braid. This braid carries them sideways. To achieve this effect, the braid takes 4 steps (hence the name). This braid takes time to learn and patience to do well. It is a piece that is unusual and shows off technique and skill.
